High Lift Pallet Truck Inspectors
What are high lift pallet truck inspections?
In the UK, high lift pallet trucks, also known as powered pallet trucks or stackers, are deemed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as having “the ability to raise the forks above 300mm”. Unlike ‘standard’ pallet trucks that only lift approx 200mm off the ground and only require a yearly PUWER inspection, high lift pallet trucks do require a secondary inspection which falls within the classification of LOLER testing. This is why it’s important to distinguish between the two types of pallet truck, to ensure the correct level of safety inspections are carried out to comply with UK regulations.
Therefore, our high lift pallet truck inspections provide both PUWER and LOLER testing to ensure full compliance with UK law as explained in the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) ‘Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992’.
How often do I need a my high lift pallet trucks inspected?
Both LOLER and PUWER regulations state that examinations must performed at specified intervals, typically at least once every 12 months and must be carried out by a ‘competent person’, i.e AV Statutory Inspections. These inspections check the overall condition, safety features, and operation of the pallet truck to ensure it remains safe to use.
What is included in a high lift pallet truck inspection?
Under LOLER and PUWER regulations, employers are responsible for ensuring that work equipment, including high lift pallet trucks, is suitable for its intended use and maintained in a safe condition. This includes conducting regular inspections, testing, and maintenance to ensure the equipment remains safe to use and as standard our inspections include:
